July 12th, Monday Going Farmland, tractors and bad weather near Chicago
I woke up from my sofa, John emerged from the backseat of the policer and Greg crept out of his tent. We had breakfast in Tioga (always look where the pickup trucks are, when you want a good one). Greg almost got hypnotized but luckily we could take off with a clear head. Saw many farms, and then Pete's Tractor Site!
Buzzed it and got down on his little strip. We met Milton, who told us to have a look at this incredible yard full with old memories. He even sold parts to the Netherlands, he said. Then up to 9000 feet, with a tailwind we reached Willmar. Had great lunch there at Frieda's place. Greg loaded up his fuel containers and then we set off. Going south we learned of bad weather around Chicago. Decided to land North of it, and wait out. So now we are at Tri Co Regl Airport. We woke up with a fog, but luckily we could have breakfast a the on airport restaurant.
